Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information kbwen Lab may collect, how it may be used, and what choices visitors have when using the site, seeing ads, or sending support through third-party services.

Last updated: April 8, 2026

The full policy text below is currently maintained in English only. For a Chinese summary or specific questions, email contact@kbwen.com.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to the kbwen Lab website, including its homepage, category pages, tool pages, and related static content published under lab.kbwen.com.

For privacy questions or requests, contact: contact@kbwen.com.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect or receive the following categories of information:

  • Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, language, referral source, and approximate usage timestamps.
  • Site interaction data, such as page visits, clicks, ad interactions, and similar usage signals collected by us or by third-party advertising or analytics providers.
  • Contact information you choose to provide, such as your email address and the message content you send through a feedback email.
  • Donation or support-related information shared by third-party platforms, which may include a display name, email address, and transaction-related reference details.
  • Tool input data that remains in your browser when a tool runs locally; many current tools are designed to operate client-side, but any page that uses an external service should say so separately.

3. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and secure the website and its tools.
  • To understand which pages or tools are being used and improve site quality.
  • To respond to feedback, bug reports, abuse reports, or legal requests.
  • To display advertising, measure ad performance, and manage monetization partners.
  • To receive voluntary support or donations through third-party services.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce site terms, and protect against fraud or misuse.

4. Advertising, cookies, and consent

kbwen Lab does not currently display third-party advertising. No ad networks, ad cookies, or ad-personalization storage technologies are loaded on any page as of the date above.

If advertising is introduced in the future, this section will be updated with the specific providers and their roles, and — where consent is legally required (e.g. for visitors in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland) — access to those technologies will be gated through an appropriate consent flow.

5. Analytics — Google Analytics 4

kbwen Lab uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used. GA4 is provided by Google LLC and collects data including:

  • Pages visited, time on page, and navigation paths
  • Approximate geographic location (country and city level, derived from IP address)
  • Device type, browser, operating system, and screen resolution
  • Referral source and UTM campaign parameters
  • Anonymous identifiers stored in cookies (_ga, _ga_*) for session and user-level counting

GA4 data is processed under Google's own Privacy Policy. You can opt out of GA4 measurement globally using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by adjusting cookie preferences in your browser settings.

GA4 data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics and is used only for aggregate site analytics — not for identifying individual users and not for ad targeting (no advertising is currently served; see Section 4).

6. Third-party services

The site links to or integrates with the following third-party services. Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics 4 for site usage analytics (see Section 5)
  • Ko-fi for voluntary creator support and donations
  • GitHub for outbound links to source code or issue tracking, where mentioned

If you choose to support the site through Ko-fi, payment is processed by Ko-fi (and its underlying payment partners) under their terms. kbwen Lab does not itself receive or store payment card details.

Section 5 of Google's privacy policy applies to GA4 data. Outbound links to third-party domains are clearly visible by URL before you click.

7. Legal bases for processing

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we generally rely on one or more of the following bases:

  • Consent, where required for advertising, analytics, or similar technologies.
  • Legitimate interests, such as site security, abuse prevention, service improvement, and basic operational analytics.
  • Performance of a request or transaction, such as responding to feedback or handling support-related communication.
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

8. Data retention

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including security, record-keeping, legal compliance, and dispute handling. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods depending on operational need and third-party platform requirements.

9. International transfers

Some service providers used by kbwen Lab may process data in countries outside your own jurisdiction. Where applicable, data may be transferred internationally as part of hosting, advertising, analytics, email, support, or payment workflows.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent for personal data that concerns you.

  • Request information about whether we process your personal data.
  • Ask for inaccurate or incomplete data to be corrected.
  • Ask for data to be deleted when it is no longer needed or unlawfully processed.
  • Object to certain processing, including some marketing-related processing.
  • Request a copy of data you provided where portability rights apply.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

To exercise a request, email contact@kbwen.com. We may need reasonable information to verify identity before completing a request.

11. Children

kbwen Lab is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the site, please contact us so we can review and remove the information where appropriate.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
